PPT vol.4 "Kuroburudon": An All-Black Pickleball Tournament on August 22, 2026
On Saturday, August 22, 2026, THE PICKLE BANG THEORY, the dedicated indoor pickleball facility one minute on foot from Motoyawata Station, hosts PPT vol.4 "Kuroburudon". This edition comes with an all-black dress code. Come play hard rallies in a relaxed atmosphere, in a climate-controlled indoor venue that works in any weather.

The highlight: Kuroburudon
"Shiroburudon", the annual tournament played entirely in white, gets a twist this year: we are running it as "Kuroburudon", the black edition. The dress code is all black, so please put together an outfit in black as far as you can. A court unified in black will feel completely different from any other day.

- Starter (beginners, and players with little racket sport experience) - limited to 12 pairs
- Challenge (intermediate, DUPR 3.0 to under 3.5) - limited to 12 pairs
- Open (upper intermediate and above, DUPR 3.5 and up) - limited to 12 pairs

Match format
- Round robin, followed by a main draw and a consolation draw
- Games to 11 points, one game per match, win by two
- Finals are planned as a single game to 15 points

- A minimum of three matches is guaranteed
- Solo entries are very welcome if you do not have a partner
What is PPT (Pickleball Players' Tournament)?
PPT is an open tournament built around helping players improve. Its signature is the "jungle" format, where men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles all compete in the same draw, with a handicap system.
The finals are streamed on YouTube with live commentary, which has become a draw in its own right. Every edition also includes prizes and a social gathering for players, and the series runs regularly as a tournament that makes pickleball far more fun.
